Back to work!
Brad went to work today and his leg did ok. It swelled up a bit, and he's resting it now, but all seems to be well so far. I think it will still take some time for his body to get all the kinks out from laying around for 3 weeks. He's already been a huge help with the kids this evening though! I'm appreciative of the healing that has taken place and pray the Lord will continue to heal it!

More from Berry Picking
Berry Picking
Going on 18 days
Well, we're going on 18 days of Brad and his leg on 'strict elevation'. The Lord has been so faithful to give me what I need to get through it all...to get done what needs to get done and not stress too much about the rest. Brad's not been in pain since the first week, so that's been good that he's not been dealing with pain. And it's only been in the last few days that he's gotten real restless. Dr. said he can go back to work Monday. We're all looking forward to 'having him back'!

Sewing Camp
Mackenzie and I attended "Sewing Camp" last week at our church. Mon. through Fri. from 9:30 to 12:00 we attended and I learned more about sewing and Mackenzie learned to sew for the first time. We each made a purse/bag, pillow case and pajama pants. We had so much fun and I was so proud of Mackenzie for persevering when things were mundane (measuring, cutting, ironing) or frustrating (can you say 'seam ripper'). I'm sure Mackenzie and I will have many more times of sewing together!

Mr. Mischevious
Doctor's Orders
Well, Brad just called, he's on his way back home...Dr. said he turned a corner as far as the infection goes, but wants him to still stay off of it till the end of the week. He'll go back on Thursday. The Lord knows...
What a ride we're on
So glad to be starting a new week. The last couple weeks have been crazy. Starting with Brad getting hurt two weeks ago Tuesday night. Puncture wound to his shin via a metal dumbbell, trip to the ER, infection and antibiotic shot and prescription and rest and elevation, worse infection and another antibiotic shot and more prescriptions and "strict elevation" orders from Dr. So, for the last 12 days Brad's been either in bed or on the couch with his leg elevated. He'll go back to Dr. this morning. I've enjoyed seeing him around the house more, but am looking forward to the Dr. saying he's able to get back to life as normal. I've always known he's a helpful husband and father, but having him basically on bed rest for the last 12 days has shown me how, in so many ways, he is truly a huge help with the kids and around the house! Hopefully I'll be a little more appreciative when he is able to do more!
